"We’re like a garbage can for the world”- Donald Trump on the country he’s trying to become president of again. Literally.

A voter resource to have on hand is… Vote 411’s get to know your ballot tool! You simply put in your address and it pumps out the details on what will be on your ballot so that you can do the research you want to beforehand. Just remember, there are a ton of down ballot races and a lot of states have ballot measures [and cities], that you should get up to speed on before going to vote. -Maddie A story more people should be talking about is… this one, which points out directly how dangerous the conspiracy theories that get peddled like Trump and his cronies are. The story aka reality is that people stopped going to FEMA for needed aid and assistance post-hurricane(s) because of all of the lies being spewed by the right-wingers. So… we’re putting people in a position where they’re not going to get the help they need and are entitled to…how UN-AMERICAN. -Maddie Something that gave me the ick is… really just the continual ick that I have for the former orange man – and this interview from his former chief of staff, John Kelly only furthers it. What we learned – which, get the highlights here – is that Trump admires Hitler, wants to be him, hates disabled veterans, doesn’t respect people who serve our country, and has no care for the constitution. When people tell you who they are… -Maddie Something that’s giving me hope… is the grandma’s coming out to vote for the future of this county – okay and the grandparent duos too, even better! -Maddie | A voter resource to have on hand is… Vote Bestie if you’re a PA voter! For anyone that’s a college student in PA, this tool is super helpful and easy to use when figuring out all-things voting. -Sammy A story more people should be talking about is… the oh so not so casually terrifying situation that’s been revealed – Elon Musk has been in contact with Putin since 2022, doing favors on the dictator’s behalf like not activating Starlink over Taiwan to pacify China’s President Xi Jinping. This guy is not just jumping on stage with America’s wannabe dictator, he’s playing with the ones that already exist, against the interests of the free world and the United States. -Sammy Something that gave me the ick is… Tucker Carlson. That should say everything, but in case you missed his VILE speech at the Turning Point Rally. He said – direct quote – that America needs a disciplinarian “father” as described as “There has to be a point at which dad comes home….and he's pissed. Dad is pissed. He's not vengeful. He loves his children, disobedient as they may be. And when dad gets home, you know what he says? You've been a bad girl. You've been a bad little girl, and you're getting a vigorous spanking right now.“ -Sammy Something that’s giving me hope… is seeing all of the first-time voters [of all ages] come out and cast a vote for Kamala Harris [and Tim!]. Catch me bawlin’! -Sammy |
ON THE POD: NORTH CAROLINA, THE PURPLE STATE
An interview with state Rep. Julie Von Haefen
We’re in the final stretch of this election season, and this is our very last interview before it – we’re doing a solo eppy next week, so don’t fret!! But to cap it off, we had to go with an EPIC one with the amazing Julie von Haefen, who is a state rep in North Carolina. We run through the state’s lay of the land politically and the momentum being built across the state by young people. It’s a state to watch and so is this episode on our YouTube. You can also tune in via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and just about anywhere you get your pods.
Editor’s Note: This interview was conducted well before the hurricane hit NC
OOOOOH THAT’S NIIIIIICE
Lil’ things we’re loving
VP Harris is barnstorming in Texas, which is what we call a long-term political play for the whole kit and kaboodle. In the short-term, electing Rep. Colin Allred to the U.S. Senate to rep Texas is a must [and possible] win.
This round-up of election night cozy fits is giving treat ya’self because it’s going to be a long one, and you don’t have to be a Steve Kornacki in khakis.
Celebs on both sides of the aisle have been out n’ about casting their ballots – and also Young Gravy has been out there rallying young voters to the polls [absolutely was not on our bingo card].
Vogue went on the ground with Gwen Walz [second lady hopeful!!!] and got to know who she is, her legislative priorities, and who her husband is [and who they are as a unit]. Love it.
As Gigglers, we were obviiiii obsessed with the fact that our gals Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo talked about voting on this episode of Giggly Squad. Not to ruin it, but one of them learned that they were a suffragette in a past life. Tracks.
Constantly being JD Vance’s worst nightmare at this point is a part of our resumes at this point, esp with these cat balloons, which you can get at the Balloon Saloon in Tribeca.

This is what it looks like to go vote [early] as a candidate in Texas! Hint: you can’t wear campaign merch in the polls FYI.
This Halloween costume is absolutely COCONUTS and CONTEXT. It’s also iconic.
The pettiest, poopiest art installation made its way to the capitol. It’s certainly something.
This woman in Michigan says what we’re all thinking about Trump. It’s definitely going to be an audio in next week’s #VIRAL newsletter.
Speaking of audios and therefore trends on TikTok, may we rec participating in this one after you’ve voted blue.
Canceling you Brittany Aldean’s vote is a must – and this voter understands the assignment.
Politics is personal. This heartbreaking trend that shares stories like Lexi’s brings it home.
