“Deceased Congressman wins primary” – something that actually happened this week

A political story that’s falling under the radar is… the one around the House GOP trying to undo protections for transgender students. How about leave trans kids alone? How about get a hobby? -Maddie

Something I’m at the edge of my seat about is… how many more Trump team people are going to be charged in fake elector schemes and honestly fraud of varying capacities. Just this week in Wisconsin, we had Trump’s former attorney with an insane name – Kenneth Chesebro charged along with two others. Just waiting for more shoes to drop. -Maddie

A concert that I want to go to is… Zach Bryan – the limit doesn’t exist in terms of how many times I see him play live. An icon, a legend. -Maddie

Something I think people should know about is… are Dem candidates running in super red states or areas. The media counts them out, and so then voters count them out, and then it becomes even harder to build party infrastructure in these places. We shouldn’t be counting anyone out, and this candidate running for US Senate in Utah is a great example of that, and so is Kaylee Peterson, who we just had on the show, who is running for Congress in Idaho. -Maddie

A political story that’s falling under the radar is… the fact that 50 Cent was on The Hill this week advocating for increasing minority representation in the luxury spirits industry. There’s always something so interesting to me about celeb visits to The Hill, and what issues are personal to them. Also, I didn’t have 50 Cent and Nancy Pelosi hugging on my 2024 bingo card but I’m so here for it. -Sammy

Something I’m at the edge of my seat about is… the fact that The Biden-Harris campaign smartly tapped one of former Rep. Kinzinger’s former staffers to work on GOP outreach. Dems have been yapping about this type of move needing to happen for a while [self-included], so glad to see it in motion. I’m also curious to see what rolls out as a result. And one more thing, former Rep. Kinzinger has a substack that’s a worthwhile read. -Sammy

A concert that I want to go to is… hmmm honestly I’m not sure off the top of my head, but I’ll def be checking out what concerts and festivals Headcount will be at. Maybe that’ll help narrow it down! -Sammy

Something I think people should know about is… that we brought back a few of our favorite pieces from the Friends Don’t Let Friends Miss Elections Collection with Social Goods for ‘register a friend to vote day.’ You can shop the pink trucker hat here and the farmer’s market perfect tote here. -Sammy
